Buff - N - Shine Express Car Wash ("Buff - N - Shine", "we", "us") uses Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and offer a seamless experience to our members and customers. In this policy, “you” refers to any individual whose vehicle or license plate may be scanned by our ALPR system. This policy explains why and how we use ALPR data, and outlines the safeguards we take to protect your information. 2. Authorized Purposes for ALPR Use

 

We collect ALPR information to:

  • Determine whether a vehicle is enrolled in our Unlimited Wash Club or other membership programs.

  • Verify whether the account is active and within usage limits (e.g., one wash per day).

  • Facilitate contactless access to services and reduce wait times.

  • Maintain sales and usage records for internal analysis and customer support.

Our ALPR system reads the license plate and cross-references it with registered subscriber data to allow or deny access.

 

3. Authorized Users and Employee Training

 

Access to ALPR systems and data is restricted to:

  • Location Managers and Assistant Managers.

  • Designated customer service personnel for membership management.

  • Approved third-party vendors for system support or maintenance.

 

All authorized users are:

  • Trained to use ALPR only for its intended purposes.

  • Prohibited from sharing ALPR data with unauthorized parties.

  • Instructed to comply with all relevant privacy regulations (such as CCPA and GDPR where applicable).

 

4. Security and Compliance Monitoring

The Location Manager at each Buff - N - Shine Express Car Wash is the designated custodian of ALPR records and is responsible for data handling compliance at that site.
